Smart Decisions on the Road & Workplace Wellbeing

This VCS driver training module helps drivers make safer choices on the road while supporting personal wellbeing at work. It covers managing driving risks, controlling speed, staying focused in the cab, and reducing road rage to improve overall safety. The module also raises awareness of common mental health conditions, helps drivers recognise signs of mental distress, and highlights the importance of a positive and supportive workplace culture.

Efficiency on the Road & Secure Load – Secure the Road

Delivered by VCS in cooperation with RTITB, this module is designed to improve road safety and operational efficiency through correct load security and responsible driving practices. In line with RTITB guidance, it helps drivers understand their legal responsibilities, identify load-related risks, and apply best practices to prevent load movement, loss, or instability during transit. The training also promotes smoother, more efficient driving to reduce incidents, protect vehicles and cargo, and ensure the safety of all road users.

Emergency Roadside Ready & Road Wise: Navigation in All Environments

This module prepares drivers to respond safely and confidently in all road environments. It covers breakdown procedures, staying safe at the roadside, fire safety awareness, and responsible driving to reduce noise and pollution. The training also builds essential skills for urban, rural, and motorway driving, helping drivers navigate every journey safely and professionally.

Know Your Digital Tachograph, Driving Hours & Duties

This module provides drivers with a clear and practical understanding of digital tachographs, driving hours, and working time regulations. It covers the correct use of digital tachographs, recognising and managing faults and errors, and maintaining accurate driving and working time records. The training also develops skillful scheduling techniques to help drivers plan duties effectively, stay compliant, reduce fatigue, and support safer, more efficient operations.

Drive Safe, Plan Smart & Bridge Strikes

This module equips drivers with the knowledge and skills to plan routes safely and drive responsibly. It covers route readiness, understanding and applying the Highway Code, and the importance of protecting road workers through safe driving behaviour. A key focus is preventing bridge strikes by improving awareness of vehicle height, route planning, and hazard recognition—helping reduce incidents, damage, and disruption on the road.
